Trump Supporters Storm Capitol Hill, Take Selfies With DC Police

Thousands of pro-Trump protesters pushed past police, broke into the Capitol building and violently rioted, demanding the election results be overturned. Some officials inside the Capitol building say they could hear gunshots outside. Due to the riot, Congress had to pause confirming the electoral votes.

Prior to the riot, Trump held a rally denying his loss and urging supporters to march towards the Capitol and “patriotically make [their] voices heard.”
